At the same time, the amount of false, distorted or out-of-context information is increasing: from fake news and doctored screenshots to viral AI-generated photos and videos. We discuss how to tell facts from fakes and manipulation, and which tools can help verify information. We also look at why fabricated quotes circulate for decades and how to avoid becoming a link in the chain that spreads falsehoods.
