On 1 September 2026, the first episode of the new radio series “They Said It on the Internet”, dedicated to media literacy, critical thinking and digital safety, was released.
Together with cybersecurity specialists, researchers, lawyers, psychologists and representatives of public institutions, the series explores some of the most pressing challenges of today’s information environment. In each episode, experts share advice and practical recommendations to help listeners navigate the internet and social media more confidently and protect themselves from digital threats.
The series is hosted by Yevgenia Savina and Lilia Tretyakova.
First episode: children, the digital environment and artificial intelligence
Just a few years ago, the main digital challenges associated with schools and children were considered to be smart devices and the internet. Today, artificial intelligence has been added to the list. AI can not only distract students from learning by offering entertaining content, but can also complete assignments on a child’s behalf.
The first episode of “They Said It on the Internet” looks at how the digital environment and artificial intelligence affect children’s attention, memory and motivation. The episode examines whether so-called clip thinking actually exists and discusses where the line lies between technology supporting the learning process and replacing it.
The episode features the views of neuroscientist Jaan Aru and Oleg Švaikovski, a member of the TI-hüpe programme council and a physics teacher. The guest of the live broadcast is psychologist Nikita Grigorjev.
