At the National Library of Estonia, digitalisation and the psychology of information consumption were discussed

16.04.2026

On April 13, an engaging event took place at the National Library of Estonia (RaRa), offering participants a behind-the-scenes look at working with archival materials. Signe Tõnnisson, Head of the Digitisation Centre, explained how the digital processing and segmentation of periodicals is carried out. Participants were able to observe the entire process—from scanning newspapers and magazines to their subsequent processing, which makes information more accessible and preserves it for future generations.

The programme continued with a training seminar by Julia Rodina, a media literacy trainer. The seminar focused on the psychology of information consumption, the attention economy, and the factors influencing decision-making.
