Stand-Up About Everyday Life in the Digital World

16.04.26 - 19.00

Uus Laine (Vana-Kalamaja tn 1)

17.03.2026

Filters, portals, social media — but who is really behind all of it? We love immersing ourselves in other worlds, and the internet is happy to provide the most suitable ones, placing us inside comfortable information bubbles.

Algorithms know us better than some relatives do, and the news that reaches us sometimes feels like the plot of a science fiction film.

As long as we remain firmly hooked on the digital needle, almost anything can be shown or told to us. We may understand, in principle, that every post is driven by digital mechanisms and someone’s interests… yet more often than not, it is easier to swallow another news item or idea than to stop and ask who wrote it, why, and for what purpose.

We rush energetically from one channel to another: news, Telegram, stories, reels, comments, and then another comment…

Get ready.
On your marks.
Digital extreme!

Come to this stand-up event to laugh at our habits of consuming information, hear about new — and not so new — conspiracy theories, strengthen your media literacy, and simply enjoy a good evening.

On stage is Aleksandr Popov: a stand-up comedian, university lecturer, and former schoolteacher. By day, he stands at the lectern; by night, he works part-time as a security guard; and in between, he is also trying to figure out who is who and what the hell is really going on in this online world.

We look forward to seeing you on 16 April at Uus Laine bar (Vana-Kalamaja tn 1). The event starts at 19:00, and doors open at 18:30.

Admission is free, but pre-registration on Fienta is required.

The event will be held in Russian.
