In this hands-on workshop, we will look together for positive, practical solutions that are easy to apply in everyday life. We will examine real-life examples, complete practical exercises, and discuss tools that will help you navigate today’s information environment with greater confidence.
Topics:
- Verifying information, photos, and videos. Useful methods and tools for everyday life, with practical exercises in which we try our hand at being detectives.
- Manipulation and cognitive biases. How to avoid falling victim to them, with examples, discussion, and exercises.
- Scams and personal cybersecurity. Common schemes and how scammers use technology and social media.
- Artificial intelligence. How to keep thinking critically in the age of AI, with examples of both beneficial and harmful uses of AI.
About the trainer: The workshop will be led by Julia Rodina, founder of the NGO Tuleviku Meedia and a media literacy trainer. She has worked as a journalist, editor, and editor-in-chief. Since 2017, she has organised and delivered media literacy projects and lectures for a wide range of audiences. Since 2022, Tuleviku Meedia has organised and run more than 20 projects on digital and media literacy.
The workshop will be held in Russian.
